God's will is what matters - not our own. As moms we always seem to try to bend our children's will to better conform to ours. Isn't that all that God our Father is asking of us? To bend to His will?
We know what's right for our children; God knows what's right for us. It's really pretty basic. Why do we make it so hard?

The One-Two Punch of God
The Eucharist and the Holy Spirit are like a one-two punch. When you have such gifts in your corner you cannot fail. When I am at Mass surrounded by that family I am stronger than anywhere else I go throughout my day. I become strenghtened by the Holy Eucharist and sustained all through my daily journey by the Holy Spirit. I am never alone.
Tonight I went to an Anointing of the Sick healing Mass. As always they are wonderful. I am sadly surprised that more people do not take advantage of the great power that comes through this sacrament. Years ago I was finally told that anointing is not just for dire situations - that simply needing the strength, courage and fortitude to survive each day are plenty good enough reasons to receive this important and life-changing sacrament.
So, once again, tonight I received it. It's special. It's good - like God. I encourage any and all to receive this sacrament who need a little or big boost in life. You won't be disappointed. Miracles happen.

My Best Friend
Longing for God to fill the space within is something I have learned in the past five years. He now fills it and I am much more content than I ever was. Life isn't perfect, but life never is. I know now how I am supposed to be, what I am supposed to do, and who I am supposed to love.
Here is a poem that I wrote which I would like to share with you relating how I feel about God. I hope you enjoy it.
MY BEST FRIEND
You are my best Friend
You make me laugh at myself
I make You laugh at me
You send me turmoil and grief
So I’ll appreciate health and happiness
I ask You what You want me to do
You show me time after time
You’re not too subtle which is good
You make it clear to see Your will
When I need inspiration, You bestow it
When life is chaotic, You send peace
When I just don’t understand, You teach
You surround me with Your light
I entrust my heart to You
You love and cherish me
My whole heart is Yours
Everything I do
I do for You

Teach Your Children Well
I like the title of this retreat - Leading in Jesus' Name. Who better to lead with? When God is in our corner marvelous things will happen.
Just tonight I had a short and sweet talk with my four men. In case you don't know, they are 19-24 years of age. Fall is here with winter on its heels. The air is already cooler. We have an abundance of clothes in this house - clothes that no one will ever wear. I thought of those clothes as "the harvest." And the laborers are indeed few, but they needn't be. Hopefully, I planted a seed tonight. My sons are too big for me to go through their clothes; they have to do it. I will keep bugging them until they do so. That's one of my small missions this week. Mom, the agitator - just one of many hats I wear!
We all must strive to be "the Body of Christ at work in the world." And for us moms our primary world is our home. Be the Body of Christ at home. Teach your children well.
